Women’s Designer Shoes Size Guide

Shoe Size Chart
Designer shoes are generally of Italian or French origin. If purchasing these shoes as an American, there can be a problem in determining the correct size. Designer shoes are generally sized using the European shoe sizing method. In order for the consumer to choose the correct size, the consumer must either convert their current size to the European system or be measured using that system.

There is a difference, in the sizing, because of different systems of measurement being used. Americans use the U.S. Customary system which uses inches. The Europeans use the metric system and measure the feet in centimeters. The linear length is then converted into a shoe size. It is hard to do an exact conversion between the two different measuring systems. This can cause some discrepancies in conversion charts. The following chart will give the consumer the approximate size that will be worn.

Measurements can vary from one conversion chart to the next. The measurements for the shoes will also vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. If the consumer is in doubt on the the best size, it is recommended that the consumer be professionally fitted before purchasing or ordering designer shoes.

Tips for Having Your Feet Professionally Fitted

Late afternoon or evening is the best time to have the feet measured. This allows for normal swelling of the feet.
Have both feet measured. Use the measurements from the largest foot.
Wear the same type of socks or hosiery that will be worn with the shoes to the fitting.
If the measurements from the sizing falls in between sizes, the consumer needs to always choose the next size up.

A consumer can also opt for measuring their own feet. By using the metric system of measurement, the consumer can then consult the chart using the centimeter measurements.

By using the conversion chart or having their feet fitted, the consumer can overcome the differences in the different shoe sizing systems.
