Jimmy Choo for H&M
Jimmy Choo has become the premiere name in designer shoes worldwide. His shoes have been worn by such notables as the Princess of Wales and the cast of HBO’s “Sex and the City.” Jimmy Choo’s rise to fame began just 13 years ago in 1996.
Who is Jimmy Choo?
Choo was born in 1961 to a family who made shoes. Jimmy constructed his first shoes when he was just 11 years old. He later attended the Cordwainers College in London to study shoe design. He started out selling one-of-a-kind handmade fashion footwear in the 1980’s to famous clients such as Princess Diana, but because of the high price of these exclusive shoes few women could afford to buy them. In 1996 he changed to having his shoes mass-produced by Mellon. Show ▼
Jimmy Choo believes that footwear is the most important fashion accessory to complete the look and balance of a woman’s outfit. He has discovered the combination of beautiful footwear with comfort. He is responsible for providing chic, trendy shoe styles. When women wear his shoes they become transformed into women of elegance and style. This winning combination has made his footwear in demand by women all over the world.
Choo recently designed a more affordable line of his famous shoes when he joined with H&M, famous for chic but cheap European designer fashion. Women who can’t afford the original collections of shoes line up to purchase his more affordable line at H&M. The price range of his shoes sold at H&M is $70 to $299 compared to $350 to $1595 for his original line.
The H&M line of shoes shows the genius of Jimmy Choo in animal prints, black leather, studs, suede and sequins in strappy sandals on stiletto heels. They are quality knock-offs of his original collections. He did not skimp on elegance just because they are cheaper. Jimmy’s objective in making this line was to enable every woman rich or poor to buy a pair of Jimmy Choo designer shoes.
